New CACDP Communication Tactics & Deaf history And Culture Course

A practical approach to communication with Deaf and hard of hearing people including:
  • Adapting the environment
  • Choosing the right communication method
  • Ensuring Deaf and hard of hearing people understand you and you understand them
  • Fingerspelling
  • Demonstrate knowledge about aids/equipment and access to information/services
  • Identify different groups within the Deaf community and their activities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of interaction skills that are appropriate in the Deaf community
Course will be carried out over a 10-week course with the 10 minute assessment at the end of the last day.

The certificate can form part of the Certificate in Deaf Studies (Foundation Level)

COST £70.00 plus assessment and exam fee

Concessions available for individuals in receipt of Income Support and other means tested benefits
