The establishment of North Wales Deaf Association began in 1993. Funding was obtained from the Welsh Office, Gwynedd County Council and Clwyd County Council to appoint a Consultant who worked with a steering group of deaf people and volunteers to devise an organisation that was capable of responding to the changing and developing needs of deaf people across North Wales.
The Association was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee in August,1994 and registered under company no. 2959589.
The head office was established at The Bungalow, Plas Tre Marl, Llandudno Junction and the Association employed its first member of staff during November,1994, when the doors were officially opened to the general public.
The Association was granted Charitable Status on the 17th July 1995 under number 1048017.
The Association's business is managed by a volunteer directors of nine, who meet monthly to discuss the Association work and make decisions on future developments.
The day-to-day management of the Association is carried out by the Manager.
Since then the Association has gone from strength to strength and now employs 13 members of staff delivering a wide range of services.
In November, 2000 the Association out grew its original premises and has now moved to newly refurbished offices at Quinton Hazell, Glan y Wern Road, Mochdre.
